The library hosts several special events throughout the year.

Here are some of our favorites:

  • Summer Reading Program
Each summer, children readers read towards their goal and enjoy weekly programs revolving around a theme that changes each year. This year’s program “Be Creative at Your Library” began on Tuesday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m. and concluded on Tuesday, July 7. There was a total of 8,645 books read during the 6 week program. 100 children earned a certificate, and 90 of these participants won a T-shirt. There were 142 children registered. It was a very successful program. Thank you to all who participated.
  • Christmas at the Library
Even Santa reads at the library! Join us each year as we host our annual holiday celebration.
  • Easter Program We also host an Easter Egg hunt, along with a visit from the Easter Bunny each year. This event is held in the Dr. Seargeant park, weather permitting. There will not be an egg hunt held this year.

Also, don’t forget to watch for “Booktalk,” the monthly column in the LaFollette Press and in The Christian Journal Leader, written by Nancy Green, Library Director. It is usually published the first Thursday and Friday of each month.
