Library Board

The LaFollette Public Library seeks to satisfy the diverse reading needs and interests of our patrons. We are happy to assist you in any way we can.

One of the ways we provide best sellers to our reading fans is through the McNaughton book lease.  This is paid by the State using Federal funds.  The State of Tennessee has opted not to renew this lease, which will expire on March 31, 2009.  We were at a loss as to how to cover this so that we could continue to provide this most vital service to our readers.  I spoke with David Young, then city administrator and chairman of the county commission.   He was extremely supportive and suggested we approach the Campbell County Commission.  We, as a group of the Campbell County Library Board, went before the county budget committee and asked for the funds to continue this lease.  Mr. Young, in his position as chair of the commission, wrote a resolution asking the commission to fund this request for all 4 libraries in Campbell County.   This resolution passed unanimously, and we get to keep the book lease!! Most other libraries state wide are not so lucky as we are here..  We are always looking for ways to provide you with the best reading possible.

We are the only site in the area to provide the boating safety test for young people.  This is an online test and must be taken at an approved location.  Call for more information.

We hope you enjoy using YOUR library!

Your Library Card

Your library card is issued at no charge after you have completed an application and provided proof of your correct current mailing address. You must show a picture ID, as well as a piece of mail that has been mailed to you at your correct mailing address.  A $1.00 replacement fee is charged if the card is lost. You are responsible for all materials checked out on your card including loss, damage, or overdue fines incurred; therefore it is not wise to allow another person to check out materials on your card.  Materials may not be checked out to anyone who has overdue materials or owes any late charges.

Please inform us of any telephone number or address changes that would hamper our communication with you. This can be done by calling the library, writing us  or sending us an email message.
